Twistedpaw padded alongside Skyfern towards the place where medicine cats met. The moon shone down and the wind blew rather eerily, making the young apprentice shudder. He hadn't been a medicine cat for long-- actually, this was his first medicine cat Gathering. He wondered if every quarter moon would be like this.

Greypaw leaped ahead of Twistedpaw, blue eyes shining with rare jubilation. It was his first time, going to the Gathering as a medicine cat apprentice, and he was eager to become recognised with StarClan. Suddenly he hesitated, and glanced back. He slowed down and padded alongside Twistedpaw. It would be a good idea to make acquaintances out of WindClan, as much as he detested most outer-WindClan cats. "My name's Greypaw," Greypaw mewed to Twistedpaw with an attempt to be friendly, observing the tom. His gaze trailed up to the bright moon. The cool winds mildly chilled him, seeping through his feathery grey fur. "What's yours?"

"What's it to ya?" Twistedpaw snapped, succumbing to another one of his frequent mood swings. He had two moods: Gentle, kind and downright saint-like, or impulsive, snappy and... well, let's just say that woe befell whoever crossed him. He shook his head slightly to clear it and continued, in a softer, kinder mood: "Sorry. My name is Twistedpaw. Nice to meet you, Greypaw."

Hawkfire twitched his tail impatiently as he paced along by Fourtrees, waiting for the other medicine cats. this was the first time since the battle he was seeing Starclan, and also the first time his apprentice will go to Moonstone. he twitched.

On impulse, Greypaw flinched back at Twistedpaw's sudden snap, slowing down slightly as they walked. At Twistedpaw's apology, Greypaw began to regain speed. "It's fine. How long have you been a medicine cat apprentice?" As Greypaw mewed an answer, he thought about Twistedpaw's reaction. In introducing himself Twistedpaw seemed nice enough... that is, disregarding the harsh remark. Greypaw, after a moments' hesitation, shook it off and continued to pad next to the large tom.

Suddenly, Greypaw briefly caught his mentor's scent. The silver cross-Burmilla cat darted ahead to meet Hawkfire.

Twistedpaw's tail lifted hopefully, glad at gaining a new friend. "I've been a medicine cat apprentice--" The thin tabby began to meow, but Greypaw darted ahead before he could finish. His tail hit the floor so loudly that he was sure that all living prey within a mile had heard. "--since the last medicine cat gathering," he finished.

Just as Greypaw made it half-way to his mentor he froze. Great, he just messed up a possible aquaintance. He just remembered that he had asked the other tom a question. Shaking his head, he slowed and made it back to Twistedpaw's side. "Sorry," he muttered. "It's my first time as a medicine cat apprentice, see. I'm too eager for it to start." With that his flattened ears rose at the thought of the exciting prospect. A ceremony! Just for medicine cats! He wondered what it would be like! Greypaw coughed, remembering that Twistedpaw may not forgive him for his untactfulness. (Word. )

Hawkfire moved along, past fourtrees. the other med. cats will catch up later. he glanced at his apprentice, smiling, very amused. "Go back to your friend," he said as he spotted Moonstone. "C'mon, let's hurry. The others will catch up later."

The ivy creeps along, it's trailing path soft and lush,
Before reaching eternity - thus it stops.

The young, silvery she-cat bounded up the gentle slope eagerly, before beaming cheerfully, oblivious to the chilly weather. She admired the gorgeous beams the round, luminous gray ball in the sky shone down, embracing every cat here. The Riverclan medicine apprentice suddenly stopped short, her energetic aura that had been surrounding her melted away, replaced in it's stead with a brooding, almost dark aura.

Okay, maybe not - Ivypaw had been surprised, and slightly shocked that she was not, in fact, the first one to be at the soothing clearing. 'Darn - and it's my first medicine cat gathering, too!' She glanced around apprehensively, remembering that Ripplestar had insisted Sootfur and Snowfeather go along with her to the Moonstone - even though that was not part of the tradition at all. Sighing dismally, the apprentice tried to make her mood lighter by summoning up her at-the-moment dormant, but ever-present friendliness and warmth.

"It's a rather starry, calm night isn't it?" Ivypaw forced a shy, small smile at, by the scent she detected, Thunderclan medicine apprentice; along with the Windclan tom-cat apprentice. Her sea-green pools sparkled, glinting in the soft light.

Twistedpaw eyed Ivypaw warily, hesitant to return her happy greeting. The she-cat seemed nice enough, but you could never be sure. His mood immediately clicked to suspicious. "Poetic, aren't you?" was his reply. The small, lithe tom narrowed his eyes slightly and sat down, making himself comfortable, It looked like they were in for a long wait. He began to lick his paw. If there was one thing he prided himself on, it was his fur. It wasn't called vanity, he supposed, but his fur was the best body part he owned. His paws were too small, his nose too pale, his tail too short, his eyes too small and narrowed, and he wasn't muscular at all. But his fur was sleek and shiny, and seemed to glow in the moonlight when he groomed it.

He watched Ivypaw carefully. The silver she-cat was pretty and young. She looked more like a warrior than a medicine cat. Why did medicine cats always look so much like warriors? Skyfern always said that he would do well at hunting, and never seemed to notice when he recited all the herbs and their uses.

Ivypaw's eyes widened before settling down to a uncomfortable, narrowed position. She tried to resume her friendly, optimistic front, meowing, "Poetic? No, no, I merely take pleasure in observing the scenery!" She rolled her twinkling spheres, light dancing merrily. The slender she-cat looked down, sighing softly as she once again mentally reminded herself of how Snowfeather wasn't going to be here. 'Oh, just stop thinking about that!' An irked voice snapped inside her head. Ivypaw actually shrank visibly, meekly replying, 'Sorry..'

The silver apprentice unconsciously licked her paw, grooming it until it was smooth and soft, and slightly damp as an unintended side-affect from her furious tongue assault. The Riverclan medicine cat in-training then glanced up at Twistedpaw, her gaze half-wary half-intrigued. "And who are you, exactly?"

Twistedpaw opened his jaws very wide in a huge yawn and closed them again. He blinked his eyes and only then did he realize what the other cat had said. "My name's Twistedpaw," he told her. "And you?"

A sleek black cat slid out of the shadows. "I am Nightshade medicine cat of Shadowclan." she told the others. "And you are...?" Nightshade asked, facing the other medicine cats.

"Yo." Greypaw looked at the cats, blue eyes flickering around the area. "Name's Greypaw. Ivypaw, eh?" he added, looking to the American Shorthair. "This the first time going to the Moonstone?"

Greypaw blinked at the other apprentice. "Yea, maybe." He was a rather patient and serious cat, usually, but in this excitement he felt... goofy.
